Composition:

Contains per 1 ml:

Procaine penicillin G                            200000 IU

Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate                200 mg

Description:

The combination of penicillin G and dihydrostreptomycin has additive action and in some cases synergistic action. Procaine penicillin G is a small-spectrum penicillin with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Listeria spp., penicillinase-negative Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp.
Dihydrostreptomycin is an aminoglycoside with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E.coli Campylobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp. and Salmonella spp.

Indications:

Arthritis, mastitis and gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by penicillin- and dihydrostreptomycin-sensitive microorganisms like Campylobacter spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., E. coliErysipelothrix spp., Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Listeria spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp. in cattle, calves, sheep, goats and swine.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to penicillins, procaine and/or aminoglycosides.
Administration to animals with a seriously impaired renal function.
Concurrent administration of tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.

Side Effects:

Occasionally in suckling and fattening pigs, administration may cause a transient pyrexia, vomiting, shivering, listlessness and incoordination.
Administration of therapeutic dosages of procaine penicillin G can result in abortion in sows.
Ototoxity, neurotoxity or nephrotoxicity.

Dosage:

For intramuscular administration.
Cattle:
1 ml per 20 kg body weight for 3 days.
Calves, sheep, goats and swine:
1 ml per 10 kg body weight for 3 days.
Note: shake well before use and do not administer more than 20 ml in cattle, more than 5 ml in calves, sheep and goats and more than 10 ml in swine per injection site.

Withdrawal Times:

– For kidney: 45 days.
– For meat: 21 days.
– For milk: 3 days.

Packaging:

Bottles of 100 ml.
