Tryptophan:

is an amino acid precursor t o the neurotransmitter and hormone serotonin.

Serotonin i s the brain chemical that produces feelings o f happiness and contentment.

Tryptophan i s thought to produce a calming effect b y increasing serotonin

levels in the brain.

Serotonin i s a n inhibitory neurotransmitter that i s involved in regulating appetite

, sleep, mood balance, emotions, anxiety, pain sensitivity and more.

Magnesium:

The majority o f magnesium in the horse’s body is found i n bone and muscle.

This ionic mineral also participates i n enzyme activation and muscle contraction.

Magnesium i s used t o reduce excitability, anxiety, and reactivity by:

Is required by the horse for a variety o f metabolic functions, including

carbohydrate metabolism.

function and thiamine supplementation i s purported to have a calming effect.

YEAST CELL WALL:

The yeast cell wall i s a carbohydrate. When the cell wall i s broken down b y the digestive juices,

a large quantity of carbon dioxide i s created. Since a horse cannot “belch,” this CO-2 remains

i n the stomach and “scavenges” the oxygen out of the digestive system. The “bad bacteria”

such as E. coli and salmonella need this oxygen. The bad bacteria are greatly reduced,

if not eliminated, from the digestive system by a lack of oxygen. The CO-2 allows

the digestive bacteria and enzymes t o increase. They d o not need oxygen. The result i s

an increase in the digestive capacity o f the horse.The CO-2 also increases the amount of

o f carbonic acid i n the digestive system which permeates the neuro-muscular system and lowers

the amount of lactic acid buildup in the working muscles. Additionally, the contents of the yeast
